Description

The earth quake in Italy is the first Item on the news in Israel, and in our crazy country that saying something.
May God keep the injured safe.

Italians are so much like Israeli's in temperament, I really enjoyed my visit to Rome a few years ago.

Israeli still missing in Italy--Father of 23-year-old Galilee resident Hussein Hamada to head to Italy Tuesday morning Daniel Edelson---Hussein Hamada, a 23-year-old student from the Galilee's village of Kaboul, has been missing since an earthquake hit Italy Monday, as his relatives anxiously wait at their home for some good news. "I've been hearing terrible rumors," Hussein's mother, Sana, told Ynet. "It's the embassy's job to provide me with information about my son. "How could it be that the last time they spoke to me was at 5 pm?" Tuesday morning, Hussein's father, Dr. Amin Hamada, will be boarding the first flight to Italy. Earthquake survivor (Photo: AFP) "He will arrive at the embassy and won't leave until they make sure to get information about our son," Sana said. "It is for good reason that the entire village arrived at our home the moment they heard about the earthquake. My son is a good and beloved kid, and although he's been in Italy for two years, nobody in the village forgot him. The entire village is anxious; they're waiting for him to come back already." Foreign Ministry officials responded to the mother's claims, saying they did everything in their power to make it easier for concerned families. "Dozens of Foreign Ministry staff worked hard in order to elicit information about those who did not contact their families – they numbered 40 initially," one official said. "We made dozens of phone calls and drew on the utmost human sensitivity and caution." Meanwhile, other families breathed a sigh of relief after speaking to their loved ones. This included the family of Yuli Minchin, a 24-year-old medical student who was initially declared missing. Later Monday he contacted his family to inform them he survived the quake with light wounds only. Thus far, the official death toll in the earthquake that hit Italy Monday rose to more than 150 people; tens of thousands of Italians lost their homes in the disaster.
